WE'VE GONE SOLAR!!!
With assistance from Energy Trust of Oregon,
Portland General Electric, and Energy Unlimited of
Oregon (our local renewable energy contractor in
Sandy), Drumcliffe Farm has installed an array of
photovoltaic solar panels that are producing a good
portion of our electricity needs. Electricity
we produce that is in excess of our needs is
supplied to the grid. We've long recognized
that raising sheep is really all about harvesting
energy from the Sun through a couple of
intermediate steps by capturing it in natural
grasses and then converting it from grass into meat
and wool. We are now proud to be able to
utilize the Sun's energy in this new way and to
further reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
